Senior Accountant
Staff AccountantWe are a growing CPA firm seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support our client accounting and tax services practice. This role is ideal for someone with strong bookkeeping and payroll experience who enjoys working with multiple clients and collaborating with a professional accounting team. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for bookkeeping, payroll processing, accounting systems setup and support, client communication, and assisting with tax compliance services for small to mid-sized businesses and individuals.Responsibilities:Client Bookkeeping & AccountingMaintain accurate books for multiple clients, including general ledger maintenance, bank and credit card reconciliations, and journal entriesPrepare and assist in reviewing monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statementsReview client records for accuracy, compliance, and consistencyPrepare and assist in reviewing month-end and year-end close processesPayroll & Payroll Tax ServicesPrepare and assist in reviewing the filing of payroll tax reports (Forms 941, 940, state filings, W-2s, and 1099s)Monitor payroll tax notices and assist with agency correspondenceEnsure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulationsTax Services SupportPrepare and assist in reviewing individual, partnership, and corporate tax returnsOrganize client tax documents and supporting schedulesAssist with tax compliance projectsPrepare research, written correspondence/guidance, and other documents for submission to taxing authorities.Assist with sales tax and other state/local tax filings as neededAccounting Software Setup & Client AssistanceSet up, convert, and customize client accounting systemsTroubleshoot and resolve client bookkeeping and software issuesPerform diagnostic reviews and cleanups of existing accounting filesProvide basic software training and guidance to clientsClient & Team CollaborationBuild new and existing client relationships and demonstrate basic knowledge of clients' businesses.Communicate directly with clients to gather information, answer questions, and communicate both tax and financial statement resultsProvide professional and timely responses to client inquiriesWork closely with staff, managers, and partners on engagementsAdhere to firm deadlines, quality standards, documentation requirements, and budgeted production goals.RequirementsBachelor's degree in Accounting or a related fieldCPA Certification preferred or CPA-eligibleFour or more years of bookkeeping or public accounting experienceProficiency in QuickBooks Online and/or QuickBooks DesktopStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to manage multiple client engagements and deadlinesCulture and Core Values:KerberRose offers a fun, supportive atmosphere of professionalism marked by a personal touch.
