With the largest Capitol Hill bureau in the country, we combine 20 full-time reporting Fellows - emerging talents from communities and backgrounds often underrepresented in elite newsrooms - with 20 experienced journalists who have deep networks in Washington. This unique approach allows us to report essential stories that others miss, for the most powerful people in the country – earning us a loyal audience of influential policymakers and political players from across the ideological spectrum.Job DescriptionNOTUS is a dynamic, early-stage company looking for an ambitious professional to join our client partnerships team to drive revenue and help shape the future of our organization. The ideal candidate will be excited about partnering with sophisticated public affairs, communications, marketing and policy executives to design unique campaigns and programs that advance their corporate reputation, business and advocacy goals. The Director of Client Partnerships will identify, prospect, and secure new business from public affairs and policy-focused clients, trade associations, and corporations. This role includes building new client relationships, growing existing business, and enhancing NOTUS’ market presence by providing customized solutions that meet client needs. Reporting to the Chief Revenue Officer, the ideal candidate will have an impressive track record in a related role, be eager to learn, highly driven, and a vital contributor to the company's growth strategies.This is a full-time job based in Washington, D.C. Duties & ResponsibilitiesRevenue Production: Foster new business development by driving your entire sales pipeline, from initial contact through contract negotiation and closing.Lead Generation: Actively research and identify potential growth opportunities through your own contacts as well as via active networking and digital outreach.Client Relationship Building: Grow, develop and sustain strong relationships with key stakeholders, positioning NOTUS as a trusted partner.Public Affairs Intelligence: Utilize a fluency in public policy, public affairs, corporate CSR, and the political news space. Sales Presentations: Collaborate with internal teams to create and deliver compelling sales presentations that align with client needs and business goals.Market Expansion: Stay updated on industry trends and market dynamics to recognize and seize new business opportunities.Collaboration: Partner closely with internal stakeholders to share market feedback and advance new products and initiatives.Reporting: Keep detailed records of sales activities, pipeline status, and key performance metrics, providing regular updates to executive leadership.QualificationsWe are looking for a professional with consultative sales experience and knowledge of the public affairs ecosystem in Washington, DC. 3-5 years of experience in B2B sales, preferably in a public affairs environment.Strong presentation, communication and interpersonal skills.Self-motivated with a strong, professional, goal-oriented work ethic.Knowledge of digital media market and the ability to respond effectively to market direction, client needs and competition.A desire to manage the entire sales process (including prospecting, acquiring new business and growing relationships)Ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders to articulate product needs and new opportunities. Ability to learn and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.Willingness to be based in our Rosslyn, VA headquarters, travel to client locations around Washington, and to attend outside functions as needed.
