Startup Mentor (VC & Fundraising Strategy)

Why this role existsFundraising is where a lot of great B2B SaaS & AI founders quietly lose control: they chase the wrong investors, accept terms they don't fully understand, or raise at the wrong time and spend the next 18 months cleaning it up. They show up to investors with polished decks but fuzzy milestones, mis‐sized rounds, and stories that don't line up with their numbers.Full Stack CEOTM exists to build CEOs who treat fundraising as part of an integrated operating system: GTM, metrics, and capital all reinforcing each other, not three separate games. To do that, we're assembling Startup Mentors (VC & Fundraising Strategy) who have actually led or sat on the other side of multiple rounds (pre‐seed to Series B) and know what "investable" really looks like in the age of AI.About Full Stack CEOTMFull Stack CEOTM is an operating system for VC‐backed (or VC‐aspiring) B2B SaaS & AI CEOs from first revenue to ~$25M ARR. Founders plug into:CEO Operating Room – a private, curated room of B2B SaaS & AI CEOs with weekly Control AMAs, Thursday Operator/Investor sessions, and direct access to VP‐level operators, exited founders, and VCs who've actually shipped and raised.Stage‐Based Labs – 8–12 week sprints (Zero to First Revenue, Traction to Repeatable GTM, Series A to B Control) that turn chaos into real traction, dashboards, and investor‐grade stories.CEO & GTM Advisory – 1:1 operator‐GP support on GTM design, control scorecards, runway, and board narrative. This VC mentor role sits across all three layers, sharpening how founders think about round strategy, narrative, and investor fit at every stage. What you'll doAs a Startup Mentor (VC & Fundraising Strategy) you will:Join selected Tuesday "Control AMA" and Thursday Operator/Investor sessions to answer live questions on fundraising readiness, investor targeting, and round strategy.Review pitch decks, data rooms, and investor updates with CEOs and give blunt, practical feedback on what flies with real investors—and what doesn't.Help founders design stage‐appropriate rounds (pre‐seed, Seed, Series A/B): target size, valuation bands, use of proceeds, milestones, and runway logic.Pressure‐test fundraising narratives so the story, metrics, GTM plan, and capital ask all line up in a way that an investor can underwrite.Coach CEOs on how to run a process: building a target list, warm intros, sequencing conversations, handling partner meetings, navigating "maybe" and "no."Share concrete war stories from your own deals (up‐rounds, down‐rounds, tricky extensions, tough terms), and what you'd do differently with hindsight.Collaborate with us to create plug‐and‐play fundraising assets: investor list templates, outreach scripts, "fundraising readiness" checklists, deck outlines, and data room checklists.Occasionally support 1–2 CEOs more closely through a specific raise (e.g., first institutional round, difficult bridge, recap, or strategic investor process) if both sides want it.Time commitment: ~2–4 hours per month, fully remote and flexible. You opt into the founders, topics, and stages where your experience is genuinely relevant.Who this is forYou're likely one (or more) of these:Former or current VC, Partner, Principal, or Operator‐GP who has led or co‐led multiple B2B SaaS / applied‐AI rounds (pre‐seed to Series B).Ex‐founder or C‐level who has personally raised venture capital and lived with the downstream consequences of those terms.Investor or operator who can look at a deck, metric set, and GTM plan and instantly see what a serious Seed or Series A IC will question. You enjoy teaching CEOs how to think like an investor without turning them into pitch theater machines; you're willing to share the messy stories, not just the highlight reel. This is not a fit if:Your experience is mostly advisory or coaching without having ever run a real fundraising process or sat in an IC/partner meeting where decisions get made.Your primary goal is to sell your own services (fractional roles, consulting, or a fund) into the room. Any engagements that emerge should come from trust and fit, not pitches in sessions. What you getA "Startup Mentor (VC & Fundraising Strategy) – Full Stack CEOTM" role you can proudly show on LinkedIn as part of the founding mentor network.A curated room of B2B SaaS & AI CEOs from first revenue to ~$25M ARR, plus other operators, investors, and exited founders—essentially a warm, qualified deal and advisory flow surface.Clean, organic visibility into founders by helping them sharpen their story, control their metrics, and run real processes; if board, advisory, or investment conversations make sense, you take them directly with the founder.Early access to the Full Stack CEO operating system—control scorecards, labs, GTM maps, and capital frameworks—with your input shaping the fundraising and investor‐relations layer.A front‐row seat on how AI‐era B2B SaaS companies are actually raising, managing runway, and negotiating terms across dozens of live cases, not just one portfolio. You're joining while the network is still small and handcrafted. The mentors who help build this now will shape how a generation of CEOs thinks about fundraising, power, and survival in the age of AI.How to applyApply here on LinkedIn. Bonus points if you include a note with:A brief overview of your VC / fundraising / founder experience (stages, ARR ranges, types of rounds, geos, key outcomes)One concrete example where you helped a company materially upgrade a round outcome (better terms, higher quality investors, more runway, or a disciplined "no‐raise" decision)If it's a fit for this mentor cohort, you'll be invited to a 30‐minute conversation with Yannick Kpodar, Founder & CEO of Full Stack CEOTM, to align on expectations, topics, and where you can contribute most. If we don't move forward this round, you're very welcome to apply again for future mentor cohorts as the network expands.
