Summary/Objective The material handler position compiles and maintains plastic resin, finished goods inventory, and status information to expedite movement of material and parts between production areas by performing the following duties.Essential FunctionsReads production schedules, inventory reports, and work orders to determine type and quantity of materials required, availability of stock, and order priority.Ensures the transfer of materials from stock area to production areas.Maintains integrity of all materials by verifying product identifications, weights, and moisture analysis.Dries plastic resin to specifications.Sets up and maintains all material equipment throughout production runs.Mixes thermoplastic resins and colorants.Stages all materials to the work station including resin, packaging, inserts, etc.Uses grinders to grind scrap plastic parts and runners.Cleans drying and grinding equipment.Assists in press operation as needed.CompetenciesCommunicationDecision MakingInitiativeOrganizational SkillsTeamworkTechnical CapacitySupervisory ResponsibilityThis position has no supervisory responsibilities.Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. At times, fumes from burnt plastic may be present. The noise level in the work environment can be moderately loud. Physical DemandsThe employee is required to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time. It is possible the employee will need to stoop, kneel, or crouch down. This range reflects the base salary for this position.
