Responsible for accurate job costing, compliant billing, project financial reporting, and internal controls. Acts as a financial partner to Project Managers and leadership, supporting project profitability, cash flow, and performance tracking.ResponsibilitiesLead, train and mentor accounting team and manage all accounting & finance functionsManage job cost accounting for multiple active construction projectsMaintain project budgets, forecasts, and cost‑to‑complete analysesTrack and enter labor, material, subcontractor, equipment, and overhead costsAnalyze cost variances, trends, and financial risk exposurePrepare and review Work‑in‑Progress (WIP) schedules using percentage‑of‑completion and completed‑contract methodsPrepare owner progress billings including AIA applications and schedules of valuesUtilize billing platforms such as Textura, Procore, and related systemsReview construction contracts for billing, retainage, and compliance requirements’Track, price and process tickets and change orders ensuring accurate job cost impact and timely billingProcess subcontractor pay applications, retainage reductions and lien waiversMonitor project‑level accounts payable, receivable and cash flowSupport collections and cash forecasting activitiesAssist with project closeout including reconciliation, attic stock, warranties, and documentationPartner with Project Managers and operations on financial reporting and cost insightsSupport month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end project accounting close activitiesPrepare reconciliations and journal entries related to project accountingMaintain organized, audit‑ready project documentation and support internal/external auditsPrepare reports using construction accounting systems, QuickBooks Enterprise, and advanced Excel toolsRequirementsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldMin 8 + years of progressive accounting experience with 4+ years in construction accountingExperience supporting multiple concurrent construction projectsStrong job cost accounting and project budgeting expertiseHands‑on forecasting and cost‑to‑complete analysis experienceExperience preparing WIP schedules using POC and completed‑contract methodsOwner progress billing experience including AIA and schedules of valuesExperience with Textura, Procore, or similar billing platformsKnowledge of construction contracts, retainage, and change order processesExperience processing subcontractor pay applications and lien waiversStrong understanding of GAAP for construction and project‑based accountingAdv MS Excel skills (pivots, formulas, lookups, etc.) and proficient in QuickBooks EnterpriseExperience supporting monthly, quarterly and annual close cyclesAbility to collaborate with Project Managers, Operations teams and Executives at all levelsStrong analytical, organizational and communication skills with high attention to detailAbility to thrive in a fast‑paced construction environment
