This role focuses on planning and executing fundraising events and in-store experiences that increase community engagement, drive retail traffic, and strengthen public awareness of Futures Inc.'s mission.The Event Planner will collaborate with staff and community partners to create welcoming and accessible events that connect customers, supporters, and program participants. Assist with daily retail operations as needed and help strengthen community partnerships and outreach.Key ResponsibilitiesEvent Planning & Community Engagement (with direction from Marketing)Plan and coordinate fundraising events and themed in-store experiencesDevelop creative event concepts aligned with Futures Inc.'s mission and retail goalsManage event logistics including vendors, invitations, décor, supplies, and schedulesAssist with promotional materials and marketing coordinationBuild and maintain relationships with community partners and vendorsCollect guest feedback and assist with post-event reporting and evaluationCoordinate events designed to increase store traffic and customer engagement Retail SupportDeliver warm, positive customer service as a brand ambassadorAssist with store opening/closing procedures and POS transactionsMaintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing retail environmentSupport donation-based sales initiatives and mission-focused messagingMinimal lifting of office equipment or supplies routine required. QualificationsAssociate or bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience2+ years of experience in retail, customer service, event planning, or community engagementStrong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skillsAbility to manage multiple projects and deadlinesExperience coordinating events or community activities preferredProficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, and Canva preferredFlexible availability including occasional evenings and weekendsMust be able to communicate clearly and possess the ability to meet multiple job demands in a busy environment.May be required to operate agency vehicles and transport students/consumers in personal vehicle.
