Software Engineer (Python)6 month cotractAbout the CompanyOur client’s Technology team is seeking a strong software engineer to design, develop, and implement solutions that automate existing processes. This role will play a key part in building and scaling the core services that power enterprise-wide generative AI capabilities. You will contribute to initiatives that drive efficiency, enhance employee experience, and deliver business value through responsible AI. This is a fast-paced environment, and the ideal candidate is a self-starter who can collaborate across development and infrastructure teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues.About the RoleLocation: Hybrid role based in Detroit, MI (3 days onsite, 2 days remote)Contract End Date: 12/31/2026 with potential extensionResponsibilitiesExecute the full software development lifecycle (SDLC)Design and develop cloud-native, scalable servicesCreate flowcharts, architecture designs, and technical documentationContribute to system design across digital, security, infrastructure, and data domainsWrite clean, testable code using Python, JavaScript, and Node.jsBuild frontend components using React, HTML, CSS, and NuxtIntegrate software components into fully functional systemsMaintain and enhance existing applications through troubleshooting and upgradesEnsure alignment with project plans and industry standardsSupport ITIL processes and day to day operational engineering workProvide technical leadership and mentorship when neededQualifications5+ years of experience in Python backend development4+ years building REST APIs, ideally with FastAPIFamiliarity with AI or GenAI technologiesStrong AWS experience (certifications are a plus)Experience deploying applications on cloud platforms (IaaS/PaaS)Ability to collaborate with technical and business stakeholdersExperience with DevSecOps tools such as GitLab, Ansible, Jira, Confluence, and DynatraceExperience improving scalability, reliability, and system performanceStrong scripting experience with Python or Node.jsExperience with Terraform and infrastructure as codeAbility to design system architecture and technical solutionsLeadership experience or ability to guide teamsRequired SkillsExperience with AI frameworks such as LangChain or LangGraphFamiliarity with tools like Claude Code and GitHub CopilotExperience with observability tools such as CloudWatch, Datadog, Dynatrace, or PrometheusStrong ownership mindset and ability to resolve complex issuesAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentStrong communication and collaboration skillsKnowledge of ITIL processes and operational best practices#LI-PO1
