JOB TITLE: Member Service Specialist – Healthcare AssociateREPORTS TO: Agency Manager in Appomattox CountyDEPARTMENT: SalesPosition SummaryServe as a member of the county sales team through insurance processing, service and sales assistance. This position is in training for the Sr Member Service Specialist – Healthcare Elite role within three years as Sr MSS requirements are metPrimary DutiesHandle quoting and servicing for Healthcare products available in the agency as a trainee.Handle healthcare open enrollment for the agency with support from VFBHIS.Complete all training and proficiency testing for Health insurance sales and servicingInsurance business processing: answer customer inquiries via phone, e-mail and in-person, process payments, submit claim reports, prepare certificates of insurance and binders, prepare correspondence, process Tier 1 changes to insurance policies.Support Agents: quote home and auto business; process new business; promote cross selling; set appointments for Agents; promote FB Bank products; support the sale of Southern Farm Bureau Life Insurance Products.Promote the Healthcare operation: maintain basic knowledge of product offerings; collect information required for a referralSupport and promote the activities of the county farm bureauMaintain all County Farm Bureau records, files and permanent documents.Maintain the County Farm Bureau financial accounting system. Record all money transactions and make bank deposits.Maintain accurate county membership information by administering the membership renewal process, assigning new membership numbers, maintaining a paid listing of members as required in the Memorandum of Agreement, conducting the annual membership service check and by entering membership data into the membership system. This position is responsible for the county’s adherence to the membership policy.Assist in the planning of county board meetings and other meetings/events if requested. This includes attending board meetings, recording board minutes and maintaining minute books.Maintain good communication with the County President and Directors on issues relating to membership and service programs.Open and close office.Maintain county office suppliesOperate all computer programs designed for County Farm Bureau and Insurance Company use.Ability to operate all office equipment such as telephone, printer, postage machine.Additional DutiesAttend required training sessions and complete in office training as instructed.Perform other duties as requested by the manager.Minimum Educational/Experience QualificationsHigh School DiplomaMust obtain P&C and L&H licenses within four months of employmentMust maintain licenses through CE creditsMinimum Skill QualificationsAbility to attend all required training classes and meetings (some overnight travel required)Technically proficient- MS Office products, ability to learn and utilize all in-house systemsPositive attitudeStrong detail orientationEffective in both verbal and written communicationsHigh degree of organizationProven customer focusExcellent Customer Service SkillsMust be a team playerAbility to multi-task and handle frequent interruptionsPreferred QualificationsBachelor's DegreePrevious Insurance experienceCISR Designation
