Come join us!How you will enjoy your day: Oversee and manage the Trail House Activities, Artist Cottage, Camp Coyote, tennis, racket sports, 3 rd party partnerships, Dark Sky, TH talks and nocturnal activities (dark sky, talks, games) and holiday programming etc. Develops and implements programs, projects, special events and activities designed to increase revenue and enhance guests’ experience.Work PerformedSupervise all Trail House, Artist Cottage, and activities departments to ensure compliance with the resorts’ leadership objectives, policies and proceduresEvaluate and create new programming as neededPartner with Mii amo to attract guest to TH and Artist Cottage or any other activities.Ensure that the department’s profitability objectives are met or exceeded. Supervise all training programs in accordance with the product descriptionKnow all safety and emergency procedures for guests/team members and how to act upon themUnderstand accident reporting and prevention policiesImplement ongoing training programs for guide knowledge, safety and guest relationsInterview, hire, review performance and handle personnel disciplinary actions as necessaryInteract with fellow managers for ideas for resort activities and promotion of the programs and activities Ensure proper procedures of cash handling & payment for services received are being followedResponsible for scheduling all events to optimize adventure bookings. Ability to work with the Sales Department to develop special activities for group participation to maximize additional revenues for the resort and to enhance the guests’ experienceCoordinate all indoor and outdoor activities for all ages of the resorts guests and ability to interact with guests during the dayCreate special programming Facilitate and confirm any private activities requests from guests or groupsCreate, implement and maintain the Children’s Program within the resorts standards and comply with all legal issuesOverall responsibility for supplies related to activities programs Responsible for Tennis, Hike & Bike, and Camp Coyote payroll and invoicing of all contractorsOversees relationship with the US Forest Service and reporting requirements connected to the resort’s permit.Oversees Grand Canyon relationship, ensure compliance with National Park regulations and reporting.Oversees contributions to the Boynton Canyon Preservation Fund and facilitating where and how those funds are utilized.Prepare budgets and monitor expenses for department Other duties as assignedSupervision Exercised: Activities Supervisor, Racket sports team, Hike & Bike staff, Camp Counselors, outside contractors, 3 partySupervision Received: Managing Director/General ManagerResponsibility & AuthorityAbility to deal effectively with all departments Maintain outside business contacts within the community to include associations that relate to the Activities areaRepresent the resort for outside vendor Orientations and meetingsMinimum RequirementsBachelor’s degree from four-year College or university or equivalent experience. Prior hotel/resort activities or fitness experience preferred. General background in recreation and child development helpful. Knowledge of hotel operations and activities beneficial. Must have strong organizational skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to perform and prioritize multiple tasks with ease. Computer skills required. Strong team member relations skills. Must be certified in CPR/ First Aid for children & infants.
