This position assists machinists and manufacturing leadership with production support tasks, preventative maintenance activities, and general shop upkeep.As the primary maintenance support team member, this role works closely with manufacturing leadership to help ensure equipment remains operational, the shop environment is well maintained, and production needs are supported in a timely manner.This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in machining, manufacturing operations, or industrial maintenance.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesDaily Responsibilities Empty chip bins and scrap containers from machinesFill coolant tanks and monitor coolant levelsCutting material and staging as neededEmpty trash and recycling bins throughout the shopClean and wash completed machined parts according to specificationsDeburr parts as needed to ensure quality standards are metAssist machinists with machine operation as neededSupport machine setup activities when requestedAssist with basic machine repairs and troubleshootingTransport materials, parts, and supplies within the facilityRun company errands as needed to support shop operationsMaintain cleanliness and organization of the shop floor and work areasSupport manufacturing leadership with shop priorities and operational needsFollow all safety procedures and maintain a safe work environmentWeekly Responsibilities Fill way oil reservoirs on all machinesEmpty skimmer oil containers on each machineSweep floors and operate shop floor cleaning equipment (Zamboni or similar)Grease chucks on lathes according to maintenance schedulePerform routine visual inspections of equipment for cleanliness and proper functionMonthly Responsibilities Change air filters on machinesAssist with preventative maintenance tasksSupport general shop organization and deep cleaning projectsGeneral Duties Provide general maintenance support across shop equipment and facility needsAssist manufacturing leadership in identifying maintenance prioritiesReport equipment issues or repair needs promptlyMaintain a clean, safe, and organized work environmentFollow company safety policies and procedures at all timesSupport continuous improvement initiatives within the shopPerform other duties as assignedQualifications Valid driver's license requiredMechanical aptitude or interest in manufacturing preferredAbility to follow instructions and work independentlyStrong attention to detailReliable attendance and punctualityAbility to lift up to 40–50 lbs periodicallyComfortable working in a manufacturing or shop environmentWillingness to learn new skills and take direction from leadershipBasic knowledge of hand tools preferredIdeal ExperienceWhile direct machine shop experience is not required, candidates with the following background may be especially successful in this role: Experience working in a manufacturing, warehouse, shop, or industrial environmentExperience performing basic maintenance or mechanical tasksFamiliarity with hand tools and basic repair workExperience supporting production teams or equipment upkeepExposure to CNC machines, lathes, mills, or metal fabrication environmentsExperience performing preventative maintenance tasksBackground in automotive repair, small engine repair, construction, or skilled tradesExperience operating floor cleaning equipment or industrial cleaning toolsDemonstrated reliability, strong work ethic, and willingness to learnWork Environment Manufacturing and machine shop environmentExposure to moving machinery, coolants, oils, and metal materialsStanding and walking for extended periods may be requiredOccasional lifting, bending, and reaching requiredWe are an Equal Opportunity Employer and consider all qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, veteran status, age, or other protected status in accordance with applicable laws.Powered by JazzHR
