Truss & Panel Designer
Teton Truss is a locally owned and operated component manufacturing business located an hour south of Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Grand Teton National Park and two hours from Yellowstone. There are abundant opportunities in the area for hunting, fishing, kayaking, hiking and other outdoor recreation sports. Jackson Hole is home to two top rated ski resorts as well as a rich history in western cowboy culture. Our plant is surrounded by mountains and a river runs though the valley terminating at the Palisades Reservoir where wake boarding and other water sports are common in the summer.

Teton Truss is seeking a qualified applicant for the position of truss and wall panel sales and design associate. We are willing to train the right candidate in some aspects. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities:
Ability to handle a fast paced working environment and multitask with a positive attitude required of all employees – dramatic personalities need not apply.
Proficient use of a Construction Master calculator is necessary.
Written and oral communication skills required for phone and email correspondence.
Sales experience and customer service skills to service a wide variety of jobs from simple garage packages to custom residential, multifamily and commercial construction.
Construction industry general knowledge and ability to read architectural and structural plans with accuracy to provide RFI (request for information) response.
Experience with prepping truss and panel drawings for shop production.
Analytical and mathematical problem solving is required to proficiently handle this design position to provide accurate components. Strong understanding of concentrated, linear, and lateral loading along with geometry skills are needed.
Completion of the SBCA Truss Technician Level 1 curriculum – or willingness to complete.
Proficient use of PC systems required. Previous experience with Mitek Structure with integrated truss design in a production setting preferred.
Typical work week is 35-50 hours per week depending on workload and desire to perform. General office hours are Monday thru Friday 8am to 5pm. Hours of operation vary due to seasonal changes in product demand. Compensation is base hourly pay with additional commission pay based on sales. Experienced designers typically enjoy a yearly salary in the range of $75,000 - $130,000 based on sales and performance. Willingness to take on additional responsibilities is rewarded with additional compensation.
