Manager, Data Governance

Quanex is looking for a Manager, Data Governance to join our team located in Akron, OH, Owatonna, MN or Rice Lake, WI.Will be responsible for establishing, leading, and sustaining enterprise data governance practices to ensure data quality, integrity, availability, and compliance across the organization. This role partners closely with Engineering, IT, Manufacturing, Finance, and Operations stakeholders to define standards, ownership, and processes that enable trusted data for decision-making and operational execution. Fast paced environment Supportive and collaborative culture Variation of job tasks The company LIVES its valuesWhat Success Looks LikeGovern master and reference data within ERP platforms, including SAP and OracleDefine and maintain the enterprise data governance framework, including policies, standards, and operating proceduresEstablish data ownership, stewardship, and accountability models across business and engineering domainsGovern engineering-related data domains such as product, BOM, routings, and specifications across systemsOversee and support Engineering Change Request (ECR) and Engineering Change Order (ECO) data impacts, ensuring accuracy, traceability, and SOX complianceLead data quality initiatives, including definition of metrics, ongoing monitoring, root-cause analysis, and remediationPartner with Engineering and Manufacturing teams to align data structures with business processes and system needsExercises independent judgment in defining governance standards, resolving data quality issues, and recommending system or process changes impacting enterprise dataCollaborate with IT on data architecture, integrations, access controls, and system enhancements related to governed dataEnsure data governance practices align with data security, privacy, and access control policies in partnership with IT and ComplianceProvide governance oversight for engineering software licensing data, including data accuracy, entitlement tracking, and audit supportSupport compliance, audit, and risk management requirements related to data integrity and system controlsYour CredentialsBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Data Management, or a related field7+ years of experience in data management, master data, or data governance rolesHands-on experience with ERP systems, specifically SAP and/or OracleExperience supporting engineering or manufacturing data processes, including ECR/ECO workflowsWorking knowledge of print controls and document control conceptsStrong understanding of manufacturing, engineering, and operational data flowsProven ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders without direct authorityThe salary range for this position is $125K- $160K w/ bonus potential.About Quanex, A Part Of Something BiggerQuanex (NYSE: NX) is a global, publicly traded manufacturing company primarily serving OEMs in the fenestration, cabinetry, solar, refrigeration and outdoor products markets.
