Sourcing / Senior Sourcing Specialist

SUMMARYResponsible for sourcing equipment, supplies, wrap, and services needed to support capital projects, facilities maintenance, store sales and/or merchandising needs. Ensure the provision of best quality goods, in compliance with existing corporate guidelines, plans, and budgets. Manage quality, delivery, and cost to meet the department and company's goals and objectives. Work with key stakeholders and functional business areas to identify savings opportunities. Identify and implement best-in-class and innovative ideas to enhance sourcing strategies.Position title ranges from Sourcing Specialist to Senior Sourcing Specialist based on experience.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESUnderstand corporate merchandising and operational programs and supporting procurement needs, synergies, and budgets including capital expendituresCoordinate and lead comprehensive sourcing presentations.Identify opportunities to drive cost savings and synergies throughout the organization using tools, cultivated resources, and 3rd party resources.Develop partnerships with supply chain resources and continually monitor and measure overall supplier performance.Maintain an in-depth knowledge of new equipment, technologies, and trends in the supermarket industry. Provide opportunities and solutions to senior leadership.Act as lead resource to key stakeholders on sourcing new equipment and supply requests.Work with manufacturing companies on research and development of custom equipment to meet the needs of key stakeholders. Ensure that all new equipment meets space requirements, functionality, and safety requirements.Ensure that all packaging conforms to State and Local regulations within the corporate footprint.Manage specifications for volume purchasing and national account bidding.Understand and manage total cost of ownership of equipment and supplies.Manage purchasing cycle to include:Oversee bidding and negotiation of all purchase agreements for equipment and supply items.Assess quotes and compile a detailed assessment of cost breakdowns for review and approval.Coordinate purchase contracts with business leaders and legal department.Review purchase orders/invoices to ensure that they are complete and accurate.Coordinate and execute combined shared services requests for proposals through e-auction initiatives, Topco aggregated programs, and other 3rd party resources.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSStrong negotiation skillsStrong verbal and written communicationAbility to lead by exampleExcellent problem solving and prioritization skills.Attention to detailEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE2-year Associate Degree; 4-year degree preferred4 plus years experience in store retail or sourcing of retail equipment2 years additional experience may be substituted for each year of collegeUse of AI in Our WorkAt Northeast Grocery, we encourage the responsible use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools to help increase efficiency, productivity, and quality of work.
