Job Description : This position is in the Aircraft Carrier Design and Systems Engineering Directorate (SEA 05V) at Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA). This position will be at the Washington Navy Yard The incumbent serves as assistant to the Ford Class Aircraft Carrier Configuration Manager.Specific duties and responsibilities include:Provide support to Ford Class aircraft carrier Configuration Manager in the review of change documentation including slides describing the change in detail, specification changes proposals (SCP), Hull Modification Requests (HMR), and Schedule A and B change requests. Candidate must be highly motivated, independent, and self-starter, able to manage their own projects and coordinate the work with multiple engineers. Must be comfortable managing multiple projects at one time with competing schedules. Coordinate with Systems Engineers, Engineering Agents, Technical Authorities, and HII-NNS to resolve system configuration matters. Maintain change documentation and change tracking files correct and current. Required Skills and Experiences:Minimum:4+ years experience in the configuration management fieldStrong technical writing and communication skillsPreferred:Experience with or at a shipyard, Naval Surface/Undersea Warfare Center (NSWC/NUWC), Supervisor of Shipbuilding Command (SUPSHIP), Regional Maintenance Center (RMC), and/or Type Commander (TYCOM) supporting construction, operation, maintenance, modernization, and/or repair of shipboard systemsExperience working with a US Navy Technical Authority (eg, NAVSEA 05 or 08)Experience working with program managers (eg, PMS 312 or PMS 378) in a technical roleExperience with aircraft carriersDegree Requirements:4-yr degree in any fieldMust be a U.S. citizen.SECRET security clearance must be fully adjudicated and considered "final".Company DescriptionORBIS is an ISO 9001 certified, Veteran Owned Small Business (VOSB) with over 20 years of major Navy Program experience leading, delivering, and managing professional support services for NAVSEA, the Warfare centers and the Navy industrial enterprise.
