As a Mechanical Engineering Team Lead, you will be a viable member of an international team focused on creating and reviewing efficient designs for state-of-the-art passenger trains, managing complex interfaces, and integrating various systems.
Key Activities
Continuous development and supervision of employees in the Mechanical Engineering team, consisting of around 10 employees. The team members have a Mechanical Engineering degree or technician background
Development and mentorship of unexperienced Mechanical Engineers in a variety of technical topics and interpersonal professional skills
Coordination and resource planning for the Mechanical Engineering team for various US projects
Creation and establishment of engineering processes, guidelines, and work instructions
Ensuring cost and schedule compliance for Mechanical Engineering work packages, initiation of any escalations, and resolution actions with various departments within Stadler and towards suppliers
Participation in supplier negotiations, First Article Inspections and bid projects
Qualifications
BS or MS degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent engineering field
Several years of experience in Mechanical Engineering in railway, aerospace, automotive, defense or similar industries
Working knowledge of 3D CAD and PDM software (CATIA V5 and SmarTeam experience is a plus)
Able to work in fast-paced, collaborative environment
Proven leadership and management experience in an engineering team is a plus
Excellent interpersonal communication skills in an international working environment
Excellent technical writing skills
