Whether you will spend your day brainstorming in an office cubicle, operating a crane, running manufacturing equipment or troubleshooting technical obstacles, at CMC, you’ll get the training and support from your team that you need to excel in your role and reach your full potential.What You'll DoEffectively monitor and inspect equipment for defectsParticipate in CMC Safety Programs and proactively uphold the CMC Safety CulturePerform additional duties as neededPerform all facets of the repair safely while utilizing hand tools, power tools and precision tools at different heights or adverse conditionsCreate work orders to purchase supplies & parts for repairs, track purchase requisitions when necessaryAble and willing to cross train as requiredAttend extensive training regarding applicable equipmentMaintain good general housekeeping, keeping clean equipment and work area. Keep all tools in good working conditionPerform Predictive/preventive maintenance on a monthly cycled schedule, utilize safety software to ensure tasks are completed as scheduledWork with other technicians on job orders & trouble shooting as neededSpecific knowledge of air brake systems & able to perform duties at top level requiredTrouble shoot & Perform trailer electric system repairs for brakes & lighting requiredMust be proficient in both Stick & Mig weldingMust have knowledge & prior experience mounting & dismounting tires on rims & mount / dismount wheels & tires on trailersRepair and maintain shop machinery and mechanical equipment including welders, minor truck, forklift repair and preventative maintenanceWhat You'll NeedMust be able to work outside under all weather conditions to include working in the heat and cold weatherMust be proficient in both Stick & Mig weldingAbility to read & understand technical documents, schematics & service manuals & the ability to write clearlyBoth mechanically and electrically inclined with experience working in both areasPossess a strong work ethic and practice safe working habitsFollow OSHA, EPA, and all company safety policies, rules, and regulationsMinimum 4 years preferably in a heavy industrial environmentAbility to work as a team player in a fast paced environment, with strong work ethic, attention to details and find root causes for issuesPossess proficient skills utilizing hand tools, power tools and precision tools for performing all facets of the repair and maintenance processAbility to work overtime when requiredMust be able to lift 50 pounds, climb ladders and steps, work outside under all weather conditionsValid drivers license with clean MVRValid CDL with clean MVR a plusSpecific knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics a plusYour EducationHigh School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience is requiredWe are CMC, a Fortune 500® company at the leading edge of our industry.
