EHS Specialist
FDRsafety is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist for a direct-hire opportunity with a leading client in the industrial energy sector. This individual will be responsible for driving a strong safety culture and ensuring regulatory compliance across two power plant locations. The role involves hands-on field engagement, oversight of EHS programs, training development, auditing, and continual program improvement. This opportunity will offer a generous base salary (The pay range for this position is $110,100.00-$138,600.00), bonus incentive, full benefits package, and significant growth opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and enhance existing environmental, safety, and industrial hygiene programs across both sites.
Conduct regular site safety assessments, audits, and hazard evaluations; follow up to ensure closure of corrective actions.
Provide EHS leadership to plant personnel; partner with site management to promote a culture of safety.
Develop and deliver safety training, reports, and presentations tailored to plant operations.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulations.
Consult with corporate EHS resources to maintain alignment with company-wide safety expectations.
Design and implement site-specific safety and environmental policies and continuous improvement initiatives.
Lead or assist with incident investigations and root cause analysis.
Perform additional related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.
5+ years of direct safety experience in heavy industrial, energy, or power plant environments (internships and academic projects not included).
Strong knowledge of OSHA, NFPA 70E, and other applicable EHS regulations.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital reporting tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist) designation.
Master’s degree in a related field.
Familiarity with Safety Management Systems such as OHSAS 18001 or ANSI Z10.
Advanced knowledge of electrical safety regulations and practices.
Prior experience supporting EHS across multiple plant sites.
