You will work alongside experienced developers and have opportunities to build and enhance your skills across Spring Web, Spring Batch, Kafka, and microservices. We embrace a modern, AI-assisted development culture and encourage developers to leverage approved AI tools to improve productivity, code quality, and development efficiency. *Responsibilities* * Develop, enhance, and maintain applications using Java, Spring Web, and Spring Batch. * Work collaboratively with the existing development team to deliver enterprise application features and enhancements. * Support integration efforts involving Kafka and other messaging systems, with guidance from senior team members as needed. * Contribute to microservices development and gain hands-on experience with distributed system concepts. * Take ownership of assigned tasks and features and deliver them within agreed-upon timelines. * Participate in code reviews and incorporate feedback to continuously improve code quality. * Debug and troubleshoot issues identified in development, testing, and production environments. * Collaborate with team members to identify root causes and implement effective solutions. * Maintain and update technical documentation for assigned applications, features, and components. * Use AI-assisted development tools, such as GitHub Copilot and other approved AI models, to support code generation, debugging, testing, and documentation. * Follow established development standards, coding practices, and team processes. *Required Skills & Experience* * 8–12 years of professional experience in Java development or a closely related software engineering role. * Strong proficiency in Java with practical experience developing enterprise applications. * Hands-on experience with the Spring Framework, including Spring Web and/or Spring Boot. * Understanding of core programming concepts, including object-oriented programming, data structures, and design patterns. * Experience working with RESTful APIs and web services. * Experience with version control systems such as Git. * Ability to troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application issues effectively. * Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively within an established development team. * Self-motivated and proactive approach with a willingness to learn new technologies and development practices. *Nice-to-Have Skills* * Hands-on experience with Kafka or other messaging systems. * Experience with microservices architecture and distributed systems. * Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes. * Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS. * Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. * Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies. *Added Advantage — AI-Assisted Development* We strongly encourage the use of AI-assisted development tools in day-to-day engineering activities. Candidates who are comfortable using, or interested in learning to use, AI tools to enhance their development workflow will have an advantage. Experience or familiarity with the following is beneficial: * Using GitHub Copilot and other approved AI models for code completion, suggestions, refactoring, and code generation across Java and Spring-based projects. * Leveraging AI tools to assist with code reviews, test-case generation, technical documentation, and other development activities. * Using AI assistance for debugging and root-cause analysis to identify and resolve issues more efficiently. * Using AI-powered tools to research and learn new frameworks, libraries, APIs, and technologies. * Incorporating AI tools into development workflows while following established security, privacy, and coding standards. * Staying current with the evolving landscape of AI-assisted development tools and being open to adopting new technologies within the team's approved toolset. Familiarity with AI-assisted development is not a strict requirement but is considered a significant advantage and reflects our team's commitment to modern, efficient, and innovative engineering practices. Preferred Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. * Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment. * Hands-on experience with AI coding tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT for development, or similar platforms. * Experience working on enterprise-scale applications and distributed systems.
