Remote work outside of Washington will not be permitted.This position is ONLY open to current students, eligible for Federal Work Study, with an accepted FWS award.Job title: Student Assistant - Library Assistant (FWSA only), Su26Reports to: Taylor LingLocation: DigiPen Institute of Technology9931 Willows RoadRedmond, WAJob Purpose or Essential Functions Assist students in getting the information and equipment they needChecks items in and out using the library's circulation systemOpen or close the libraryAssist with new item acquisitions, cataloguing, interlibrary loan, and test proctoringAssists in library usage data collectionHandles cash or credit card paymentsPerforms maintenance and cleaning of library space and equipmentAssures the library is orderlyParticipates in special library projectsAssists in explaining Library & Makerspace Policies, use information, rules of conductQualifications/Competencies Qualifications include but are not limited to:A sincere desire to help people - this is a must!Attention to detail - there are a lot of procedures to remember for different equipment, and mistakes checking equipment in / out and putting it away should be extremely rareReliability - I should be able to trust you when leaving the library in your hands, and you need to show up on time for shifts or find someone to cover them.Interest in working with Makers and using the Makerspace and equipment available.Experience No experience required, but previous experience working in a library is a plus, as is customer service experience.Students will be selected through review of their submissions and an interview process.Expected dates of employment: May 11 - July 31, 2026Number of Hours per week: 8 hours a week minimum*** Once again, students are not permitted to work during any time when they are scheduled for a class. ***Wage Range:Wage ranges are based on Washington State's minimum wage requirements.$17.13 - 18.25 per hour , depending on number of terms worked at DigiPenRequirements to Apply: ResumeCover LetterCurrent Semester Academic ScheduleEligible for Federal Work Study, with an accepted FWS awardResident Advisors may not also hold an FWS positionSubmit your resume and cover letter with this application via UKG and include your Summer Academic Schedule for shift availability, along with any scheduling preferences.
