Maintenance General Supervisor Job Category: M&T Services Requisition Number: MAINT002499 Sheldon Road, Houston TX Houston, TX 77049, USA Description Your Role at a GlanceEnsure the highest level of personnel safety, embedding safe work practices into every aspect of corrective maintenance. Provide strong leadership, direction, and oversight to all corrective maintenance crews, ensuring timely and effective execution of corrective work. Coach, train, and develop maintenance personnel to strengthen technical capability, reinforce safe behaviors, and build a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Maintain all plant equipment to the highest possible standard, meeting or exceeding internal customer expectations. Manage and control corrective maintenance costs while supporting operational readiness and reliability goals. Ensure corrective maintenance tasks are completed within required deadlines to support production needs. Identify opportunities for equipment improvements, reliability enhancements, and capital investment. Address personnel matters within the corrective maintenance team, including performance management and skill development. Enforce compliance with company policies, procedures, and cultural expectations. Promote teamwork, collaboration, and effective communication across all organizational levels. Drive continuous improvement and lean methodologies to enhance maintenance efficiency and reduce downtime. Strong decision making skills based on analytical approach to problem solving, including application of statistical techniques. Language skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Reasoning ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude Willing to be on call Minimum educational requirement is BS or its equivalent in an Engineering related study. Previous Steel industry experience required.
