SFDK Life Support Laboratory Team Lead - $28.00/HR
Overview:Responsible for the overall operation of the Life Support Laboratory including staffing, inventory control, water chemistry, quality control, and adherence to governmental and safety policies.Responsibilities:Responsible for the overall safe and efficient operation of the Life Support Laboratory* Operate and maintain all related equipment and chemical processes* Assist in preparation of annual budget under the direction of the Life Support Supervisor* Oversee the purchasing of new materials and supplies for the Laboratory* Communicate testing results to Attending Veterinarian Team and Management via the OERCA Animal Welfare Application* Communicate testing results to the Life Support Team for real time adjustments* Oversee the Laboratory's safety program and enforce safety policies and procedures* Interface with regulatory agencies and accrediting organizations to maintain all standards accordingly.* Work in concert with Life Support Supervisor to ensure all facilities are complaint with both regulatory and accrediting organization as appropriate.* Enforce all departmental policies as needed; follow and enforce all polices of Six Flags Discovery Kingdom* Other duties as requestedQualifications:1-3 years previous experience as a Water Quality Laboratory Technician (AZA or ZAA Affiliation Preferred)* AALSO Water Quality Certification Preferred* Experience with OERCA Animal Welfare Application preferred* Must have a thorough working knowledge of water chemistry, as it applies to a wide variety of systems including marine mammal, fish and avian systems* Must be able to work in all types of weather both indoors and outdoors* Must be able to deal effectively with other professionals and governmental agencies* Must possess excellent organizational skills* Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays* Must possess good corrected/uncorrected eyesight.* Must be able to read, write and speak English* Must be proficient with Microsoft Office ApplicationsPDN-a1ab33c4-7d17-45ac-b6a5-46ceef6d78ae
