Our commitment to innovation, precision, and quality makes us a trusted partner across multiple industries.Role OverviewWe are seeking a full-time, on-site Laboratory Technician to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, hands-on laboratory experience, and a keen attention to detail to ensure accurate and reliable testing results.Key DutiesPerform metallurgical sample preparationDevelop and execute test plans for standard and custom projects, ensuring compliance with ASTM and other relevant standards.Maintain Protech's quality and safety standards throughout all testing processes.Select and operate appropriate measurement tools and equipmentPerform routine equipment maintenance and identify necessary repairsApply mathematics to solve measurement and testing problemsConduct tests and inspections of products, services, and processes to evaluate quality and performanceTroubleshoot and resolve testing errorsApply measurement science and methods to produce valid, reliable resultsIdentify and prevent potential measurement errorsResponsibilitiesMaintain primary, intrinsic, secondary, and working testing standardsCollect, compile, measure, and record data during testingIdentify out-of-tolerance conditions and perform corrective actions (e.g., adjustments, component replacement, correction factors)Identify and correct errors as applicablePrepare and deliver clear, detailed testing reportsQualificationsHands-on experience with laboratory equipment and quality control testingStrong analytical, organizational, and laboratory skillsFamiliarity with laboratory processes and techniquesAbility to follow standard operating procedures and safety protocolsExcellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilitiesEffective communication and teamwork skillsAssociate's degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related field (Bachelor's degree preferred)Experience in materials testing or coatings industry is a plusBenefits100% company-paid Health, Vision, and Dental Insurance4-day work week promoting excellent work-life balance401(k) with 6% company matchProfit sharing and yearly bonus programComprehensive PTO schedule and paid holidaysCompetitive compensation packageCompany DescriptionEstablished in 1990, Protech Lab Corp., based in Hilton Head Island, SC, has established itself as a leading materials coatings testing laboratory in the United States.
