Awake Nightshift Caregiver (DSP)

We welcome people of all backgrounds and spiritual journeys to find connection and belonging.Overall FunctionThe night shift caregiver position is responsible for overnight support needs of core members (residents with intellectual disabilities). Night shifts are either 10pm-6am or 9pm-9am. Preference will be given to applicants who have caregiving experience working with aging adults or adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities.General ResponsibilitiesAssist adults with intellectual disabilities with nightly bathroom supports (1-3 times per night as needed) and helping apply a BIPAP mask (2-3 times per night). The caregiver is alerted of any bathroom needs via a call button, and addresses BIPAP needs during routine visual checks. This position involves pivot transfer assistance to two individuals who use wheelchairs. The house has five residents in total.Contribute to basic documentation and trackingComplete basic household tasks such as sweeping, mopping, laundry, and dishes per shift checklistAttend 12 annual hours of continuing education credits (online options) as provided by L’Arche Portland
