Junior Network Engineer

About the Opportunity:The Junior Network Engineer role is designed to support the organization’s managed client networks by troubleshooting, monitoring, and maintaining network infrastructure. This position provides hands-on experience across various technologies and client environments, contributing to the reliability and performance of client networks. It offers a development path toward advancing to a Senior Network Engineer by building technical skills, ownership, and expertise.3. Responsibilities:Troubleshoot network issues including switching, routing, wireless, firewall, VPN, and connectivityMonitor network health, performance, and availabilityAssist with network changes, firmware upgrades, and scheduled maintenanceMaintain accurate technical documentationCollaborate with senior engineers, clients, and vendorsParticipate in scheduled evening, overnight, and weekend maintenance as required4. Requirements:Hands-on experience in network engineering or administrationStrong understanding of networking fundamentals and real-world troubleshootingKnowledge of switching and routing fundamentalsFamiliarity with VLANs, STP, IPsec, HSRP/VRRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11 wireless, VPNs, DNS, DHCP, and QoSExperience with enterprise switches, routers, wireless infrastructure, and firewallsSkills in network monitoring, diagnostic, configuration management, and traffic analysis toolsAbility to manage production network changes and maintenance activitiesCompetence in developing and following implementation, testing, validation, and rollback proceduresExperience maintaining configuration backups and recovery processesStrong communication skills for documentation and client interactionComfort working in a managed services environment supporting multiple clients and technologies5.
