LPN Or CMA - Clinic - PRN (As Needed)LPN: Responsible for the delivery of patient care by applying skills and techniques common to the practice of vocational nursing. The Licensed Practical Nurse functions under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or physician of Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant and performs tasks related to patient care. The LPN provides direct and indirect patient care services that meet the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care; meets the communication needs of patient and family; provides care that reflects initiatives and responsibility indicative of professional expectations, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse/provider. Maintains regulatory agency requirements, nursing and hospital policies, procedures and standards. Communicates with physicians and team members about changes in patient's clinical condition, including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in conditions or response to treatment. Additionally, is able to perform general nursing duties with adequate supervision. All other duties as assigned as appropriate given the scope of duties. Education: College completion of a Licensed Professional Nursing Certificate. Experience: Two (2) years of LPN experience preferred. Licenses/Certifications: Current LPN Licensure in the state of Nevada. BLS required. CMA: Assist in the delivery of primary health care and patient care management. Requires normal visual acuity and hearing. Requires exposure to bodily fluids. Knowledge of medical practice and the ability to assist in giving patient care. Knowledge of examination, diagnostic, and treatment room procedures. Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care. Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment. Skill in maintaining records and recording test results. Skill in developing and maintaining department quality assurance. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff and the public. Ability to maintain quality control standards. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations. Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures. Ability to communicate clearly. Duties & Responsibilities: Performs selected medical assistant and administrative duties as assigned; Works with Customer Service Representative to ensure quality patient care and scheduling; Works with physician staff to ensure quality patient care; Gives injections; Prepares patients for examination and treatment. Takes patient histories, vital signs, medication history, allergies and immunizations; Prepares exam and treatment rooms with necessary supplies and instruments; Performs phlebotomies and prepares lab orders for hospital; Applies dressings and conducts pulse oximeter tests; Prepares and maintains supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization; Assists with scheduling of tests and treatments as requested; Provides general information on departmental policies and procedures as requested; Orders and maintains clinical and office supplies and equipment; Maintains patient files, records and other information, including documentation into patient's electronic medical record; Attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested; Provides appropriate information regarding patient billing information to billing department; Utilizes the practice's EMR as trained including proper documentation of all procedures performed and all patient education materials provided to patient; Adhere to HIPAA privacy policies and maintain patient confidentiality; Assists physicians in retrieving lab and X-ray results as requested; Ensure all patient diagnostic orders are printed and distributed correctly on a daily basis; Maintain all procedure equipment according to company guidelines including sterilization of equipment; Maintain patient/physician communication daily; Provide excellent patient customer service; Performs related work as requested/required. Education: GED or High School Equivalent and preferred graduation from an accredited program for Medical Assistants. Experience: At least 1 year of prior experience in related work area preferred. Must have basic computer knowledge in Microsoft Excel and Word. Must have good typing skills. Strong organizational skills a required. Licenses/Certificates: Medical Assistant Certification. Current BLS required.
