Location: Virginia Beach, VAJob Type: Full-Time | Contract-to-HireSchedule: 2nd ShiftPay: Starting at $27.00/hour or higher depending on experienceAbout The RoleAn established commercial services team is seeking a skilled Electrical Technician to support installation, repair, and maintenance operations on active commercial job sites throughout the Virginia Beach area. This position is primarily field-based and requires someone who is dependable, safety-focused, and experienced working in fast-paced construction or service environments.The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting abilities, experience interpreting electrical plans, and the ability to work independently while maintaining high-quality workmanship.Primary ResponsibilitiesCommercial Electrical WorkInstall, maintain, and repair commercial electrical systems and componentsDiagnose electrical issues and complete troubleshooting efficientlyPerform upgrades and modifications to existing electrical infrastructureBend, route, and install conduit using both manual and powered toolsSupport layout planning and installation processes for long-term functionalityTechnical & Blueprint InterpretationRead and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical drawingsUtilize common electrical and construction tools including drills, knockout sets, threaders, and cable pullersComplete required documentation, reports, and work orders accuratelyJob Site OperationsMaintain organized and safe work areas at all timesTravel between local project sites as neededWork from ladders, lifts, or elevated areas when requiredMeet project deadlines while maintaining workmanship standardsFollow all applicable safety procedures and job site regulations including lockout/tagout and confined space protocolsTeam Support & DevelopmentAssist with troubleshooting related systems such as HVAC or refrigeration equipment when necessaryParticipate in ongoing safety and technical trainingContribute positively to team operations and maintain professionalism on-siteQualificationsJourneyman-level field experience in commercial electrical workMinimum of 4 years of commercial electrical installation and troubleshooting experience preferredStrong understanding of electrical systems, industry standards, and safe work practicesAbility to independently perform conduit bending and installationExperience working with standard electrical hand tools and power equipmentStrong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanshipAbility to work independently and efficiently in field environmentsPreferred ExperienceExposure to HVAC, refrigeration, or mechanical systemsExperience supporting multiple commercial projects simultaneouslyBackground in commercial construction, maintenance, or service environmentsTraining & Safety RequirementsCompletion of required safety certifications and site-specific compliance trainingWillingness to participate in continued technical and operational development programsWe may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses.
