Career Level: Young ProfessionalsLocation:Howell, MI, US, 48843Plant / Manufacturing Engineering Intern (3‑Month Internship)Role: Plant / Manufacturing Engineering InternProgram Assignment: WAYS Career Path Program – Internship / Early Career TrackInternship ObjectiveSupport plant engineering and manufacturing activities during the industrialization and project phases, while gaining practical, on‑site experience in production processes, tooling, and continuous improvement within a manufacturing environment.Description Of Main TasksSupport the industrialization of new products, including process adoption, basic tool optimization, and start‑up preparationAssist in analyzing product and process data to understand cost, efficiency, and manufacturing feasibilitySupport root cause analysis of process, material, or tooling issues during the project phaseAct as a supporting interface between engineering functions (e.g. CPS) and plant operationsParticipate in continuous improvement activities focused on process stability and waste reductionProvide on‑site support during tool launch activities, including coordination and documentationDevelop awareness of customer and quality requirements, including workplace design and layout principlesAssist with tool acceptance activities under supervisionSupport the transfer and documentation of manufacturing know‑how (product, material, process, tooling)Participate as a supporting member of customer project teams, assisting with manufacturing and operations topicsAdditional TasksGain familiarity with customer‑specific requirements and internal standards (e.g. CSR Matrix MP4.1DO07) as relevant to assigned tasksPrepare reports, presentations, and process documentation for internal stakeholdersSkills & CompetenciesEducation & BackgroundCurrently pursuing or recently completed a technical education or degree (e.g. Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or similar)Technical vocational training or hands‑on workshop experience is an advantageTechnical & Professional SkillsBasic understanding of manufacturing and production processesInterest in plant operations, industrialization, and continuous improvementBasic proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)Exposure to SAP or manufacturing systems is a plus but not requiredWillingness to learn problem-solving methods and structured improvement approachesLanguage SkillsEnglish: B1–B2 level (able to communicate clearly in a professional environment)Local language: B1–B2 levelGeneral CompetenciesProactive and eager to learn in a plant environmentHands-on mentality with a practical approachAttention to detail and accuracy in technical workBasic cost awareness and efficiency mindsetMethodological thinking and openness to feedbackAdditional InformationInternship duration: 3 monthsReporting to: Plant Engineering / Manufacturing Engineering Team____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________Get to know our Carcoustics peopleA Carcoustics day with...our Vice President Accounting, Lars Schulze.Go and visit our YouTube or LinkedIn channels to get more insights in our company and employees.Nearest Major Market: Detroit
