If you share in this belief and values, if you have a proven willingness to do what it takes for students to be their best, if you thrive in an environment that is both collaborative and entrepreneurial, then you are already a KIPPster.Responsibilities of a KIPP Nashville Bus Monitor include, but are not limited to:Meet and greet visitors, staff, and students with a smileEnsure all students are seated, silent, and respectful throughout bus ridesCommunicate disciplinary issues to the Dean of StudentsBuild positive and meaningful relationships with students and staffSupport the bus driver as directedPerform other related duties as required or assignedPartial listing of minimum qualifications:Holds successful experience with working with elementary and/or middle school aged childrenDemonstrates a mature, calm and responsible attitude in dealing with the students, and has the ability to work cooperatively with other employees and the general publicHas considerable ability to communicate effectively (both orally and written), and to follow both oral and written instructionsSuccessful KIPP Nashville team members must have the following qualities:Believe deeply that all students can learn and deserve a high-quality educationTeam playerOptimistic attitudeReflective and dedicated to personal growthDesires excellence for themselves and others around themExpectations of KIPP Nashville bus drivers and support staff:Arrive at school by 5:30 a.m. for the morning routeArrive at school by 2:30 p.m. or 3:00 p.m. (depending on location) for the afternoon routeRide the morning and afternoon routes Monday-Friday.Participate in professional developmentWork is performed under the continuing supervision of the Director of Transportation.This position is non-exempt and follows a 10-month administrative schedule.
