Other Ambulatory Health Care ServicesOther Residential Care FacilitiesNursing Care Facilities (Skilled Nursing Facilities)Chemical and Allied Products Merchant WholesalersHome Health Care ServicesTechnologist AssistantThe Technologist Assistant is responsible for ensuring that the delivery of the high standards of patient care mandated by the organization are met with the provision of services and in the interaction with patients, families, physicians, and other personnel.Specific duties include, but are not limited to:Support therapists/technologists in safe patient handling and mobility (SPHM) activities, including transfers, lifting, turning, and ambulationHelp coordinate patient flow to and from the changing rooms, and in and out of the department.Manages clinical inventory, performing regular checks and coordinating supply orders to ensure continuous service availability.Performs daily maintenance of blanket and contrast warmer, refrigerator temperature checks, and transport equipment. (wheelchairs, stretchers, oxygen tanks, etc.)Demonstrates courteous, respectful communication with patients, visitors, and coworkers.Uses aseptic technique, maintain knowledge of Universal Precaution and radiation safety protocols.Performs other relevant duties and responsibilities as assigned.Position Requirements:High School Diploma or GED equivalent.BLSMust possess excellent people skills, a high level of adaptability and problem-solving capabilities.The ability to interact with healthcare professionals and center personnel while maintaining a high level of credibility in a demanding environment is of utmost importance.Familiarity with current software packages such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, HIS/RIS and PACSPreferred:Associate DegreeBLS and ACLS preferredOne-year experience in the medical fieldPhysical Requirements:The employee may be exposed to a strong magnetic field or radioactive material, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.More than 50% of the time:Sit, stand, walk.Repetitive movement of hands, arms and legs.See, speak and hear to be able to communicate with patients.Less than 50% of the time:Stoop, kneel or crawl.Climb and balance.Carry and lift (ability to move non-ambulatory patients from a sitting or lying position for transfer or to exam).Akumin Operating Corp. and its divisions are an equal opportunity employer and we believe in strength through diversity.
