Maintenance Supervisor: The Impact You’ll Have On The Organization and World
In this role you will supervise the maintenance technicians (electrical and mechanical craft persons) including day to day operations and training.
You’ll ensure maintenance work is executed daily with focus on a Safe First.
You will support the execution of maintenance schedule by keeping processes moving, assisting with roadblocks and streamlining work flows.

Life in Conway: Located in the eastern part of the state, Conway is a small North Carolina town within 100 miles of Richmond, Norfolk-Virginia Beach and the Raleigh-Durham area.
Our Conway team has strong ties to the local community. We recently sponsored the town’s annual charity golf tournament, and several of our associates are active in the volunteer Conway Fire Department, to which Bakelite donates essential emergency services equipment.
A nearby attraction is the Roanoke River, which flows across North Carolina’s coastal plain and is home to lots of wildlife, including more than 200 species of birds. You can also explore the Roanoke Canal Museum and Trail, which highlights the historical significance the canal system played in westward expansion and trade.

What Does a Typical Day Look Like? Here are your primary responsibilities:
Identifies priority shifts during the day and communicates needed schedule changes to Maintenance Scheduler.
Identifies the need for additional resources and communicates needs to Maintenance Manager.
Assists Maintenance scheduler, update Bill of Materials (BOM) for assets, and develop standard maintenance procedures (SMP).
Identifies/recommends opportunities for improvements.
Verify the availability of parts, materials and tools required to perform a job prior to execution.
Estimates the time and resources required for maintenance activities and guides Maintenance Scheduler.
Engage in the plant’s safety culture and be a leader in risk management.
Mentor less experienced members of the Conway Maintenance Team.
Leads team to embrace Bakelite’s core values.
What is Needed to be Successful in this Role (Required Skills/Abilities):
High School Diploma or GED.
Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Ten (10) or more years of experience working in maintenance at a manufacturing, industrial, or military environment.
Experience repairing manufacturing machinery and/or electrical equipment (i.e. pumps, valves, motors, transmitters).
Willing and able to become CPR and First-Aid Trained.
Willing and able to wear necessary PPE (i.e. hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toe shoes, a respirator, and other job-specific PPE).
Willing and able to perform tasks such as lifting up to 50 lbs.
What Will Put You Ahead?
Prior experience working in maintenance at a Bakelite resin manufacturing plant.
Experience using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
Experience with SAP software.
Two (2) or more years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or military environment coaching, training, and developing staff.
Experience in coordinating and supervising mechanics and I&E Associates.
Experience in both Mechanic and Instrumentation or Electrical trade.
