General Summary
Under the supervision of the Manager of Analytics, the Senior Developer works with developers, business analysts, and business partners in a fast-paced delivery environment for data and analytics. The Senior Developer is responsible for designing, building, and optimizing enterprise-grade data pipelines, analytical data models, and machine-learning–ready datasets within our Snowflake ecosystem. This role serves as a bridge between Data Engineering, Analytics, and Data Science, enabling high-quality insight creation and data-driven innovation across the organization. The Senior Developer has deep experience with modern cloud data platforms, advanced SQL development, data modeling, AI/ML integration, and business intelligence solutions.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines, transformations, and models in Snowflake, ensuring performance, reliability, and optimal storage patterns.
Collaborate closely with Analytics and Data Science teams to enable advanced analytics, experimentation frameworks, and model monitoring.
Advanced data design, analysis, and profiling
Understand, create and implement process design and target data models
Partner with business stakeholders, data scientists, and analysts to translate requirements into well-governed datasets and analytical assets
Develop, test, debug, and document data structures, data schemas, and data processes
Address performance or data quality issues
Data mining, auditing, aggregation, validation, and reconciliation
Support operational excellence through monitoring, automated testing, CI/CD deployment practices, and DataOps principles
Agile ceremonies: Code reviews, Sprint Reviews/Commitments, Sprint planning
Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, MIS, Mathematics or related field
6+ years of professional experience in data engineering in data warehouse, big data, and analytics areas
Expertise with ETL, ELT and streaming data pipelines and related tools and technologies
3+ years of hands-on experience using Snowflake or other relational data stores
Advanced experience with semi-structured document processing such as XML & JSON
Advanced experience with programming and scripting using bash, Python, Perl, etc
Must be knowledgeable of data warehouse concepts including the use of dimensional modeling and schema designs
Advanced experience with performance tuning of SQL queries
Thorough understanding of systems analysis and design, SDLC
Ability to analyze complex applications and systems with minimal supervision
Strong problem-solving skills
Excellent communication skills
Experience with CI/CD (Azure DevOps preferred), version control, and automated deployment frameworks
Prior work in fintech, risk analytics, consumer lending, or highly regulated environments is strongly preferred
Skills and Abilities
Ability to effectively communicate with business users to understand business processes
Highly Proficient in analyzing business objectives and requirements
Skills in design and development of efficient data integration solutions
Ability to design and maintain scalable data architectures that support analytics, operational insights, and machine learning
Experience with data integration tools such as Informatica, Matillion, Streamsets, or similar tools
Highly proficient in SQL
Ability to analyze business and system processes to support solution development
Understanding and ability to manage through an enterprise-wide project/solution impacts, issues, and risks
Ability to manage across company teams to ensure collaboration in support of high-quality solutions
Familiarity with AI/LLM integration patterns (feature engineering, inference pipelines, embeddings, and ML frameworks)
Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills
Advanced experience with Visio and related design/flow tools. Fluent with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. Medium skill level with MS Project.
