Medical Laboratory Technician

Job Summary and Responsibilities** Up to $5,000 Sign-on Bonus **** Up to $10,000 Educational Assistance **As our Medical Lab Technologist, you will perform vital clinical laboratory procedures to detect, identify, measure, and report data crucial for disease diagnosis and treatment.Every day, you will expertly conduct waived and moderate procedures using technical skills, instrumentation, and information systems, providing essential clinical laboratory support while ensuring the quality and accuracy of all tests under leadership direction.To be successful in this role, you will possess comprehensive knowledge of laboratory principles across various disciplines (microbiology, hematology, chemistry, etc.), understand sample processing and result interpretation, prioritize chemical and biological safety, and be adept at operating and maintaining lab equipment.Aligning with local and state requirements performs lab test procedures on patient specimens adhering to the Section's Standard Operating Procedures to ensure accurate, timely reporting.Provides excellent patient care through clinical correlation of results, identification of patterns of bias, rapid notification of appropriate caregivers of critical values, and completion of testing within established turn-around-time limitsEnsures that major automated equipment is operational by performing required maintenance, calibration and troubleshooting procedures; including contacting of instrument vendor for assistance or repairPerforms required calibration and quality control procedures and maintains records to ensure tests are being performed within established parametersPerforms proficiency testing as assigned and review results with laboratory clinical leadersAssists in evaluation and generation of compliant documentation for the validation of new procedures and equipment to provide the physician with the most current laboratory technologyJob RequirementsRequiredAssociates Of Science in a biological or chemical science as defined by CLIA., upon hire orHigh School GED General Studies completed an official military medical laboratory course and held the military enlisted occupational speciality of Medical Laboratory Specialist (Lab Technician), upon hire orHigh School Graduate General Studies completed an official military medical laboratory course and held the military enlisted occupational speciality of Medical Laboratory Specialist (Lab Technician), upon hirePreferredMedical Laboratory Technician AMT, upon hire orMedical Laboratory Technician ASCP, upon hire orMedical Lab Tech AAB, upon hireWhere You'll WorkCHI Health St. Mary's has served Nebraska City and the surrounding areas since 1927.
