Position SummaryThis position will play a key leadership role in developing and implementing processes for precision machined instruments and implants. The successful candidate will lead and participate on cross-functional teams concentrating on the delivery of new products and the improvement of repeat business processes. This role will include working with the operations, scheduling, customer service, and quality functions to successfully deliver orders on time while meeting quality and financial goals. The role requires the above to be accomplished within Tecomet’s principles of continuous improvement, customer driven innovation and a win first culture, while meeting company financial and other performance metrics.Principle ResponsibilitiesApply engineering and quality principles in support of manufacturingCreate methods of manufacture for new customer ordersEnter new part numbers into ERP systemEnter bill of material into ERP system; load new raw material part numbers (and confirm first delivery with purchasing group if applicable)Enter operations and production standards into method of manufactureWork with schedulers to select work centers based on most effective process and work center load at the time of orderFacilitate technical meetings for new customer ordersGather appropriate technical resources to review method of manufactureComplete tolerance stack analysis for manufacturing processIdentify special fixtures, jigs, and tooling required for manufacturing processWork with other process engineers and tool design/build group to develop work holding concepts and schedule tool buildAnalyze profit and loss on new customer ordersParticipate on customer project teams for product transfers, launches, or other customer requirementsParticipate on Process Excellence teams as assignedLead projects for cost reduction, scrap reduction, or other initiativesAnalyze opportunities for new capital equipment in assigned teamsEnsure compliance with all FDA, ISO, quality, safety, and environmental regulations and initiatives.Additional duties may be assigned by management as the Company’s needs require.  Credentials/ExperienceQualification RequirementsBachelor’s degree in engineering or related field preferredA minimum of two years related experience or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.Knowledge, Skills, And AbilitiesThis position requires exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to perform effectively in a team environment.Strong process engineering skills including work piece control concepts, tolerance stacking, datum controls, and fixturing concepts. Requires the ability to design processes based on maximizing efficiency and quick changeoversMust be able to troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing process issues, develop, and implement detailed project plans, develop and institute cost improvement programs, and be able to apply engineering and quality principles in support of manufacturing.Ability to read, interpret and utilize engineering drawings and electronic data for product and process development is required.
