About the Role:
Our client is seeking a Senior DevSecOps Engineer to join their Distributed Operations Team, advancing modular cloud technologies and CI/CD pipelines supporting distributed environments for the Department of Defense. This role directly supports the U.S. Navy’s Spectral Program—a seven-year initiative that delivers critical signals intelligence, electronic warfare, and information operations technologies essential for countering sophisticated cyber and electronic threats.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop & Deploy: Architect and deploy high-availability infrastructure across distributed cloud and on-premise environments.
Innovate Solutions: Drive solutions for zero-downtime deployments, CI/CD pipeline automation, and infrastructure-as-code for scalable, reliable systems.
Enhance Resiliency: Implement chaos engineering practices to optimize fault tolerance and system reliability across multi-echelon deployments.
Collaborate Across Teams: Mentor team members, collaborate across product teams, and guide software design best practices for robust distributed systems.
Your Daily Impact:
Deploy databases and messaging technologies like Kafka, MongoDB, and Cassandra.
Use tools like Terraform, Kubernetes, Ansible, and Helm for infrastructure automation.
Optimize network solutions across distributed environments using VPNs, VPC peering, and service mesh.
Lead compliance and security practices for data dissemination, encryption, and cross-domain solutions in distributed systems.
Basic Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field.
Experience: 5+ years in DevOps, DevSecOps, or related fields.
Technical Skills:
Proficient in scripting languages (Python, Java, Bash, Go).
Strong expertise in Linux administration, microservices, and distributed cloud deployment.
Advanced knowledge in container automation/orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker) and infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Ansible).
Security Clearance: Active Top Secret/SCI DoD Security Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
AWS platform experience and AWS certifications.
Kubernetes Certified Administrator (CKA) and/or Certified Jenkins Engineer.
Familiarity with security tools (SonarQube, etc.) and automation in microservice/serverless computing.
Security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CEH.
