Yard Worker/Driver

Summary Close Lumber & Corning Lumber is a family-owned building materials and hardware store chain in northern California, with locations in Sutter, Yuba City, Williams, Willows, Orland, and Corning. This job listing is for the Orland location. Store operations are Monday through Saturday. This employee’s focus will be to put away stock, use saws to cut lumber and molding, assist with customer orders and deliveries, and assist customers in-person and over the phone. The employee will need to be able to provide excellent customer service both in-person and over the phone. Job Benefits & Requirements This is a full-time position. The work schedule is about 7 to 10 hours a day, 32 to 48 hours a week. Essential Job Tasks: Comply with company policies and standard procedures Operate saws and power equipment Maintain a minimum of a California Class C drivers license with good record Ability to drive, load, and unload a 26,000 GVW truck with forklift and when needed by hand Stock inventory Assist with customer orders and deliveries Provide excellent customer service both in-person and over the phone Willingness to become proficient in duties throughout the store Requirements of Applicant: Must pass a pre-employment physical and drug screening Ability to lift and move inventory through the day Ability to stand for long periods of time Able to work in an outdoor environment Self-motivated with excellent time management skills Ability to work in a dynamic environment with changing priorities Effectively communicate with co-workers and administrative staff Ability to maintain great customer relations Enthusiastic interest in learning unique product offerings of the company Basic computer skills Relevant experience or knowledge in construction, building materials, and/or retail services is a plus (though not required) A fluent speaker of Spanish is a plus (though not required) Experience in operating a forklift is a plus (though not required) This job description does not necessarily imply these tasks listed as the only tasks necessary for an employee with this position.
