Ground Trapper

The Opportunity: As a Ground Trapper for Creature Control LLC, you will have strong starting wages at $20 an hour, which after a few months of training will grow to a salary of $48,000 a year. You can also further grow your salary each year based on an annual review. Furthermore, you receive a 1% commission on your total volume, meaning that at the end of the year you receive a check for $2000-$2500. Upward career possibilities exist in the form of becoming a Wildlife Technician or even Regional Manager. Health, dental and vision benefits are also completely covered by the company. All tools, uniforms, and boots are provided at no cost to the employee. Finally, this position comes with a company truck and take-home privileges, meaning that you save on gas for your commute and maintenance on your vehicle. What you'll do: You will spend your days around the foundations of homes and in backyards trapping and excluding ground level nuisance animals such as groundhogs, raccoons, and possums. In your position as Ground Trapper, you will: Inspect structures for signs of ground dwelling animals, identify the species, and propose solutions. Set, bait, and monitor traps for ongoing animal issues. Perform exclusion services such as foundation seals and Dig Defence installations. Communicate the value of your services to customers by explaining the effectiveness of our methods, setting proper expectations, and staying in contact with them and the front office for follow-ups. Install mouse services such as attic treatments and bait stations, as well as assist with the restocking of these as needed. Eradicate ground level pests such as external yellow jacket and hornet hive removals. Must haves: Ability to humanely trap and dispose of nuisance wildlife according to regulations. Good communication with customers, fellow team members in the front office and Wildlife Technicians. Organizational skills for keeping track of open traps in the field. Ability to work outside in various weather conditions. Ability to regularly lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Nice to haves: Previous experience in trapping or hunting. Previous experience in sales. Past employment in field service industries such as HVAC and plumbing. Demonstrated ability to work outdoors, such as lawn care, roofing, or excavation experience. Details: This is a full time, 40 hour a week position in Gregory, MI and servicing Livingston, Ingham, Jackson and Washtenaw counties. Each day begins at our shop at 7:30 AM.
