Controller (Government Contracting)📍 Richardson, TX (Onsite) 🕒 Full-TimeWe are seeking an experienced Controller to lead accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance for a growing organization in a regulated government contracting environment. This is a hands-on leadership role supporting corporate finance, program management, and operations while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strong financial controls.Key ResponsibilitiesAccounting & Financial ReportingOversee day-to-day accounting operations including GL, AP/AR, payroll, billing, and cash managementManage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processesPrepare accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAPMaintain balance sheet integrity, reconciliations, and supporting schedulesDeliver P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reports to leadershipCompliance & TaxEnsure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulationsOversee payroll tax filings, sales & use tax, and corporate tax coordinationAdminister 401(k) plan including compliance, audits, and reportingGovernment ContractingEnsure compliance with FAR, CAS, DCAA, and DCMA requirementsSupport incurred cost submissions and audit requestsMaintain job cost accounting across cost-type, T&M, and fixed-price contractsAssist in managing indirect rate structures and financial planningSystems, Controls & AuditMaintain strong internal controls and support auditsOwn and manage ERP systems (e.g., Costpoint, Unanet)Implement and document accounting policies and proceduresQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldCPA required7–10+ years of progressive accounting/finance experienceRequired: Government contracting / defense industry experienceStrong expertise in:Financial reporting & month-end closeJob cost accounting & project-based accountingFAR/CAS compliance and audit supportIndirect rate structures and incurred cost submissionsExperience with ERP systems such as Costpoint or UnanetAbility to work in a hands-on, fast-paced environment
