QA/QC Supervisor

*QAQC Supervisor *
*Position Summary*
The QA/QC Supervisor is Schultz's primary Quality representative to the Client and provides leadership and direction for all site QA/QC activities. The QA/QC Supervisor is responsible for maintaining Company Quality practices and overseeing Quality Inspectors and NDE Technicians.
The QA/QC Supervisor ensures work is performed in accordance with applicable ASME Codes, approved procedures, project specifications, client requirements, and Company Quality Management System requirements.
The position serves as a key liaison between Quality, Operations, Project Management, subcontractors, and the Client. The QA/QC Supervisor is expected to identify Quality concerns, implement appropriate corrective actions, and communicate Quality requirements effectively while maintaining the Company's commitment to Quality, safety, and public safety.
*Essential Functions and responsibilities*
Lead and coordinate site QA/QC activities and Quality personnel.
-Serve as the primary Quality representative to the Client.
-Provide oversight and direction to Company Quality Inspectors and NDE Technicians.
-Ensure inspection activities are performed in accordance with applicable Codes, specifications, procedures, and client requirements.
-Interpret and apply applicable ASME requirements, including ASME Sections I, II, VIII, IX, B31.1, and B31.3.
-Review drawings, specifications, welding symbols, procedures, and technical documentation.
-Provide Quality oversight for welding, piping, pressure equipment, mechanical integrity, fabrication, repairs, and construction activities.
-Maintain oversight of weld documentation, weld maps, flange maps, inspection records, NDE documentation, and Quality turnover packages.
-Coordinate welder qualification and testing activities and address unfavorable results.
-Monitor welding and fabrication activities for compliance with approved WPS/PQR and applicable Code requirements.
-Coordinate and monitor NDE activities and documentation.
-Support refinery turnarounds and other fast-paced construction activities while maintaining Quality requirements.
-Lead and mentor Quality Inspectors and provide guidance regarding inspection requirements and Quality expectations.
-Identify nonconformances and coordinate NCR, root cause analysis, corrective action, and preventive action activities as applicable.
-Review Quality documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with project requirements.
-Work collaboratively with Operations and Project Management while maintaining the authority to challenge work that does not meet applicable Quality requirements.
-Communicate Quality concerns and requirements effectively to Operations, Project Management, subcontractors, and Clients.
-Develop, implement, and maintain project-specific Quality requirements, inspection plans, and Quality documentation as required.
-Support continuous improvement of Company QA/QC processes and procedures.
-Maintain Quality standards with an emphasis on protection of public safety.
-Perform other Quality-related duties as assigned.
*Required Certifications *
AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
-ASNT Level II Visual Testing (VT)
*Preferred Requirements*
· Expert in Interpreting Code and executing code packages
· -API 510 certification.
· -API 570 certification.
· -ICC certification.
· -NBIC repair experience.
· -Experience working with the California Pressure Vessel Division/DOSH.
· -Knowledge of ASME PCC-1.
· -Experience developing and revising QA/QC procedures, Inspection and Test Plans, Quality Plans, and other technical documents.
· -Experience with root cause analysis and continuous improvement programs.
· -Experience working directly with Clients and regulatory agencies.
· -Demonstrated ability to appropriately challenge Operations or Client direction when necessary to maintain Code compliance, Quality, and public safety.
*Physical Activities*
Physical activities commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job include sitting for extended periods, viewing computer monitors, typing, verbal communication, walking, standing, climbing, crawling, kneeling, lifting, and driving.
*Physical Demands*
Ability to reach, handle, and manipulate objects.
-Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
-Ability to ascend construction structures and enter confined spaces.
-Ability to successfully pass a pulmonary function test when required to wear a respirator.
*Visual Requirements*
Excellent vision, either naturally or with correction, with the ability to focus clearly on objects at varying distances.
-Ability to distinguish colors when evaluating color-coded identification systems or NDE results.
*Environmental/Atmospheric Conditions*
Work may occur indoors or outdoors and may include exposure to high and low ambient temperatures.
-Exposure to elevated work areas and construction-related hazards.
-Respiratory protection and fall protection may be required.
-Exposure to elevated noise levels, including levels above 85 dB, may occur and require hearing protection.

Pay: $62.00 - $75.00 per hour
