Overview
Teachers will utilize a variety of instructional techniques and learning opportunities to enable students to develop competencies and skills which will ensure student success in the assigned subject area and in society.
Qualifications
Education
Associate's degree or higher in a Culinary or Hospitality related area
Skills/Knowledge:
Valid appropriate Texas Career & Technical (CTE) Certificate preferred.
Experience as a chef.
Two year college certificate or equivalent.
Must have or qualify to obtain Food Service Manager Certificate.
Applicant must be able to specify, select, inventory, install, operate, and maintain all equipment.
Must be fully computer literate.
Knowledge of CTE programming essential.
Repetitive motion and eye strain through extensive utilization of computer hardware and software.
Requires standing for extended periods of time and some heavy lifting.
Sponsor a CTSO organization.
Some after hours and weekend requirements for catering events.
Experience
Three years' full time work experience in the Culinary area
Minimum Teacher Salary
$61,810 (2024/2025 Compensation Plan)
Salary determination will be based on verified relevant work experience.
Salary will be adjusted to the start date.
