HVAC Technician Specialist - Full-Time 12-Month Position
The district is seeking a highly skilled and motivated HVAC Technician Specialist to ensure a comfortable and safe learning environment for students and staff. The candidate will have extensive experience in commercial HVAC systems, speicalizing in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining complex heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems with our district buildings.
Key Responsibilities
Preventative maintenance: Perform required preventative maintenance on HVAC equipment, including air handling units (AHUs), univents, chillers, split systems, and rooftop units.
Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults in HVAC systems, including compressors, motors, fans, and pumps.
Building Automation: Monitor, troubleshoot, and calibrate building automated control systems (BMS) and digital computer control systems.
Boiler Management: Operate and repair low-pressure boilers, steam traps, and related controls.
Compliance: Ensure all HVAC maintenance and installations adhere to local, state, and federal building codes.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of maintenance tasks, work orders, and refrigerant usage using computer-based systems.
Emergency Response: Respond to emergency HVAC calls as needed, including occasional after-hours support.
Qualifications
Experience: Minimum five (5) years of continuous employment as an HVAC Technician, preferably within a school district, commercial environment, or industrial setting.
Licenses / certifications:
New Jersey Black Seal Boiler Operator License is required (or willingness to obtain in one year).
EPA Section Certification (Type II or Universal) is required
Valid New Jersy Driver's License required.
Skills: Proficiency in reading schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams.
Requirements: Successful completion of a criminal history background check and proof of U.S. Citizenship or legal resident status, as required by law.
Working Condtions
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted, ability to climb ladders, and work in confined spaces or at heights.
Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
Salary range: $80,000 - $100,000
