SOFTWARE ENGINEER, BACKEND

We\'re looking for a highly skilled Backend Engineer to join our deep tech team. You\'ll play a critical role in designing, building, and scaling our backend systems that power real-time geospatial telemetry processing and autonomy. Your work will directly impact system performance, reliability, and scalability across our cloud infrastructure. What You\'ll Be DoingDesign, build, and maintain high-performance backend services in Rust Develop distributed systems and event-driven architectures using NATS JetStream and Redis Architect and optimize PostgreSQL databases for high throughput and low latency Implement WebSocket-based cloud messaging for real-time client updates Design APIs, SDKs, and data ingestion pipelines for geospatial and telemetry data Collaborate on partner and customer integrations, ensuring seamless interoperability with external systems Lead efforts around system scalability, fault tolerance, and observability Collaborate cross-functionally with data and platform engineers to evolve the system architecture Write clean, well-tested, maintainable code with clear documentation Participate in architectural reviews and performance profiling to ensure system robustness Technical RequirementsRequiredStrong proficiency in Rust, with production-level experience Solid understanding of distributed systems, streaming architectures, and concurrency Hands-on experience with Redis and NATS JetStream (or similar message brokers like Kafka) Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL schema design, indexing, and query optimization Experience implementing WebSocket or similar bi-directional communication systems Deep understanding of software architecture, system design, and scalability patterns Familiarity with containerization and cloud deployment (Docker, Kubernetes, or similar) PreferredExperience in real-time data processing or geospatial telemetry systems Familiarity with distributed tracing, metrics, and observability frameworks Background in performance tuning and low-latency service design Understanding of security best practices and authentication/authorization patterns Our StackLanguage Rust Data Layer Streaming/Messaging NATS JetStream Infrastructure WebSocket-based messaging, containerized microservices Cloud What We\'re Looking ForWe\'re after an engineer who thrives in ambiguity and moves fast — someone who doesn\'t wait for specs but architects, optimizes, and builds systems that scale under real-world load.
