Overview As a Principal Program Manager at HDR, you lead multidisciplinary infrastructure programs with high complexity, guiding clients through technical, regulatory, and community facets. You will mentor large project teams, shape program strategies, and drive successful outcomes for major infrastructure initiatives. This role blends advisory leadership with hands-on program execution, leveraging industry best practices and lessons learned. You’ll work closely with clients to deliver value while advancing HDR’s mission of positive, world-scale impact. ResponsibilitiesLead and direct complex, multidisciplinary infrastructure programsAdvise clients on technical, regulatory, financial, and community aspectsPlan, direct and monitor program execution across diverse disciplinesIdentify risks and coordinate issues resolution and decision-makingDevelop and implement program management plans, processes and toolsOversee multiple large teams or a mega-project, ensuring accountability and alignmentSecure resources and ensure contract complianceMonitor and improve program financial performance and QA/QCContribute to growth via client advisory relationships, service expansion, and staff developmentPromote cross-functional communication and collaboration across teams Key requirementsBachelor degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Sciences, Planning, Business Administration or related fieldProfessional Engineering License (PE) or PMI/PgMP or AICP or CCM certification or equivalentMinimum 10 years of program management experience, incl. 4+ years as Senior Program ManagerExperience delivering three or more programs with capital value ≥ $500M (or equivalent)Leadership experience with distributed teams and strong client-facing communicationExperience with alternative delivery methods (DB, PDB, CMAR) and PMIS/CMIS/toolsstrong leadership and team-buildingexcellent communication and presentation skillsstakeholder management and advisory capabilitiesPMISCMISscheduling
