We're looking for a Server who brings genuine warmth, professionalism, and energy to every table — someone who sees hospitality as a craft and is excited to be part of a restaurant that's on the rise. About the Role As a Server, you are the face of the Brooklyn's Down South experience. You'll guide guests through their visit from the moment they're seated to the final farewell, creating the kind of memorable interactions that build loyalty and bring people back. Key Responsibilities Guest Service Greet guests warmly, present menus, and guide them through the dining experience with enthusiasm and knowledge Take accurate food and beverage orders, communicate dietary needs and preferences to the kitchen Deliver food and drinks promptly, checking in to ensure every guest's satisfaction throughout their visit Anticipate guest needs before they have to ask — refills, extra napkins, the check at the right moment Handle concerns or complaints with empathy and professionalism, escalating when needed Menu Knowledge Develop and maintain thorough knowledge of the food and beverage menu, including ingredients, allergens, and preparation methods Confidently make recommendations and upsell in a genuine, non-pushy way Stay up to date on daily specials, menu changes, and promotions Team & Operations Collaborate with the kitchen, bar, and floor team to ensure smooth service flow Assist with opening and closing side work, including restocking, cleaning, and table resets Handle POS transactions accurately, including split checks and special requests Support teammates during high-volume periods — be the person others can count on What We're Looking For 1+ year of serving experience in a full-service restaurant (preferred) Warm, outgoing personality with a genuine love of hospitality Ability to stay composed, organized, and attentive during a busy service Strong communication and listening skills TABC/FoodHandlers certification or equivalent (or ability to obtain) Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays A team-first attitude and excitement about being part of a restaurant that's growing and evolving Why Brooklyn's Down South We believe great service comes from people who feel valued, supported, and inspired.
