This includes providing training, delegation, monitoring, and supervision of healthcare services delivered by Health Services personnel such as unlicensed assistive personnel and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), as well as other school staff. The objective is to offer health services that enhance the educational process by addressing or eliminating health-related obstacles to learning for students.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Perform comprehensive health assessments and screenings for special education evaluationsFormulate, execute, and oversee Individual Health Plans (IHPs) and 504 PlansCollaborate with healthcare providers, community organizations, educational institutions, and families to facilitate the academic access of students with health conditionsAid in third-party billing processesCollaborate harmoniously with the faculty and staff of the institution in delivering healthcare services to all studentsMaintain precise documentationEnsure confidentiality by adhering to the Federal regulations of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Current Minnesota School Nurse License with PELSBBachelor Degree in NursingCurrent Minnesota License as a Registered NursePublic Health Nurse CertifiedPREFERED QUALIFICATIONS:Clinical patient care experienceExperience managing chronic health conditionsProficient in utilizing electronic health recordsEnjoys working in an environment that fosters collaboration and teamworkAbility to engage effectively and positively with employees at all organizational levels and various partnersExperience working with children of diverse ages, cultures, and backgroundsCommitment to Equity:Rochester Public Schools is committed to diversifying its workforce to better reflect the community we serve.
