Position Overview
We're looking for a skilled Construction Accountant / Administrator to join our team. You'll handle all administrative and financial aspects of our construction projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations. Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
Develop and enforce financial controls and procedures for construction projects.
Manage project accounting, including budgeting, cost analysis, and reporting.
Work with project managers to track costs and identify areas for improvement.
Keep an eye on cash flow and project budgets to find ways to save money.
Prepare financial reports and assist with audits and tax filings.
Coordinate the preparation and submission of individual permits
Procure plans from engineers and builders for permit applications
Obtain all required approvals for permits
Coordinate paperwork and applications with outside consultants
Track permit status with the municipalities to ensure they are processed expediently to meet project start goals
Create start packages for the field with all pertinent information to ensure projects can be constructed accurately and efficiently
Request services related to permit issuance and project starts (Soil profiles, line locates, etc.)
Invoicing, including AIA invoicing, through Quickbooks
Enter new jobs into systems including Quickbooks and Buildertrend
Perform all project preparation, including line locates, inspections, finals, warranties, and collections
Perform company wide audits and payroll returns
Assist the Construction Manager and Project Managers as needed
Other accounting and administrative duties as required
Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
2 years of experience in construction accounting or project finance.
Knowledge of basic bookkeeping and accounting procedures
Good math skills and the ability to spot numerical errors
Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Organization skills
Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information
