Purchasing Assistant Old Bridge, NJ Description TitlePurchasing Assistant (Office-Based Role) Reports ToPurchasing Manager SummaryThe Purchasing Assistant oversees the purchasing of raw materials essential for production, with an emphasis on maintaining quality and cost efficiency. This is an on-site (not remote) office-based role. Job Duties / ResponsibilitiesOrder raw materials from vendors in a timely and cost-effective manner. Verify and receive materials (within an office setting) to ensure accuracy and quality of items received. Process purchases using company credit cards and balance statements accordingly. Confirm, process, and approve invoices for payment, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies. Verify the quality of goods received (documentation), addressing and resolving any discrepancies or issues with suppliers. Maintain and update an accurate inventory of all materials required for production. Monitor inventory levels to ensure adequate supply, preventing shortages or production delays. Track and manage material analysis in Excel, ensuring all data is documented and communicated effectively. Work closely with upper management to align purchasing and inventory strategies with company goals. QualificationsExperience in one or more of the relevant fields: business, manufacturing, supply chain management, or finance is required. A Bachelor's degree is a plus. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for vendor and internal collaboration. Problem-solving skills to address quality or purchasing issues effectively. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
