Job Description SummaryThe Senior Superintendent is responsible for leading and overseeing all field operations for assigned projects to ensure timely, safe, and profitable completion. This role provides direct supervision to Superintendents, Foremen, subcontractors, and craft labor, while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and client satisfaction.While professional experience and qualifications are key for this role, make sure to check you have the preferable soft skills before applying if required.Duties & ResponsibilitiesField Leadership & OversightProvide direct on-site supervision of Superintendents, Foremen, subcontractors, and construction personnelOversee the total field construction effort in coordination with the Sr. Project ManagerEnsure work aligns with design documents, budget, schedule, and quality standardsConduct subcontractor meetings and participate in project meetingsProject Execution & CoordinationAssist with interpretation of drawings and recommend construction methods and equipmentProvide technical guidance across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systemsDevelop and maintain the site logistics plan in partnership with the Sr. Project ManagerCoordinate site testing and inspectionsReview and approve trade contractor payment applications with the Project ManagerQuality & ComplianceDevelop and implement quality assurance and control proceduresConduct regular quality inspectionsInspect contractor and subcontractor work to ensure compliance with contract documentsMaintain familiarity with drawings, specifications, contracts, subcontracts, and purchase ordersSafety & Risk ManagementEnforce safety and health management programs on siteDemonstrate commitment to maintaining an injury-free work environmentConduct jobsite walks to identify and eliminate safety hazardsPrepare accident and safety reports as requiredScheduling & ReportingManage and maintain detailed short-term project schedulesEnsure project activities occur on or ahead of scheduleMonitor labor hours and material costsPrepare and submit daily Superintendent reports documenting weather, manpower, site conditions, progress, and project impactsClient & Team RelationsMaintain strong working relationships with Owners, Architects/Engineers, and project partnersProvide mentorship, training, and support to field Superintendents and EngineersFoster collaboration and teamwork across all stakeholdersPhysical & Work Environment RequirementsTraverse active construction sites, including uneven terrainClimb ladders and temporary stairwaysPerform visual inspections of work quality and materialsWork in environments with exposure to noise, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and varying weather conditionsPerform duties primarily on-site and in-office (not remote)Qualifications & RequirementsEducation & CertificationsDegree in Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field preferredOSHA Certification requiredFirst Aid/CPR Certification requiredICRA Certification preferredExperienceMinimum 8 years of construction industry experienceExperience managing multiple large existing hospitals or acute care facilitiesPrior involvement in complex healthcare projects valued at approximately $150M+ highly preferredFamiliarity with hospital infrastructure systemsTechnical KnowledgeProficiency in Microsoft Office SuiteExperience with project management softwareStrong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and contract documentsStrong mathematical and cost-monitoring skillsLeadership & Core CompetenciesStrong leadership and team management abilitiesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsEffective decision-making and problem-solving skillsStrong xaygatp organizational and time management abilitiesAbility to delegate appropriatelyAbility to maintain discretion and confidentialityCollaborative team-oriented mindsetBenefitsCompensationSalary range: $173,000 – $268,000 annually (companywide)Annual discretionary bonus based on company profitability and performanceHealth & InsuranceMedical, dental, and vision insurance (PPO and High Deductible/HSA plan options)Company contribution to HSACompany-paid short- and long-term disabilityCompany-paid life insurance and AD&DTime OffUntracked/unmeasured vacationSick leave accrued at 1 hour per 30 hours worked (up to 80-hour annual carryover)9 paid holidays annuallyPaid parental leaveRetirement & Ownership401(k) with company match (100% match on first 3%, 50% match on next 2% — up to 4% total match)Immediate 100% vesting on all contributionsTraditional (pre-tax) and Roth (post-tax) options availableEmployee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), 100% company-funded after 1 year of service (minimum 1,000 hours)Additional PerksVehicle or vehicle allowanceFuel card and toll pass
