Job DescriptionMust Have Technical/Functional SkillsStrong hands-on experience managing Hitachi VSP5600 enterprise storage arraysExpertise in Hitachi Ops Center (Administrator, Analyzer, Protector) and/or Hitachi Device Manager (HDvM)Knowledge of microcode/firmware upgrade processes for Hitachi storage arrays.Deep knowledge of zVT Optica virtual tape systems in z/OS environmentsExpertise in monitoring and troubleshooting virtual tape performanceStrong knowledge of DFSMSExperience managing SMS-managed datasets, space management, and allocation troubleshootingProficiency with DFSMShsm: backup, migration, recall, and recovery processingRoles & ResponsibilitiesAdminister, support, and optimize the enterprise mainframe storage infrastructure utilizing Hitachi VSP 5600 storage arrays and zVT Optica virtual tape systemsMaintain DFSMS policies, ACS routines, storage classes, data classes, management classes, and storage groupsEnsure proper SMS-managed allocation and placement across VSP 5600 DASD volumesMonitor daily storage operations, including health, capacity, utilization, and performance of DASD and virtual tape environments Create, manage, and maintain volumes, device groups, RAID configurations, and storage pools Configure, manage, and support zVT Optica virtual tape libraries integrated with z/OSAdminister virtual tape volumes, scratch pools, caching policies, and replication settingsMonitor tape activity: mounts, dismounts, queue delays, drive allocation, and channel utilization Support DFSMShsm backup, recovery, migration, and space management operationsTroubleshoot virtual tape issues including drive/channel errors, failed mounts, connectivity problems, or storage space constraintsParticipate in on-call rotation for 24/7 support of critical systems.Salary Range-$100,000-$130,000 a yearQualifications: BACHELOR OF COMPUTER SCIENCE
