Line Cook

The Line Cook is responsible for cooking breakfast, lunch and dinner to order. Additional duties include assisting with prep work, handling routine daily cleaning, training new line staff and assisting with scheduling. Contributes to the casino's high standards of superior guest service and performs additional job duties as assigned by the department manager. Starting wage is $23.27/hr, increasing to the standard $25.67/hr at successful completion of a 90-day orientation period. This full-time position features excellent employer-paid medical, dental, vision and life insurance benefits.Education:High School Diploma or GED equivalent requiredCulinary trainingExperience & Requirements:Two years experience in line cooking for a dinner houseMust have experience in grilling, broiling, sautéing, and steamingExperience in training of staff (preferred)Must be fast and capable of working on as many as 30 orders at a time with the ability to coordinate cooking times with co-workersMust have valid Washington State food handler's cardPhysical Requirements:Must be able to stand for longer than 8 hoursThe ability to lift up to 40 poundsMobility to climb stairs on a routine basisMaintain good personal health standards with a strong work ethicMust be able to tolerate a casino smoke-filled environmentAdditional Requirements:Must be able to work all scheduled shifts to include day, swing, graveyard and holidaysAll applicants must obtain a Class III B license as required by the Puyallup Tribal Gaming Regulatory Office and the Washington State Gaming Commission.
