Role Description:
You're a good person, and that's immediately obvious. You look people in the eye, smile confidently, and listen. You understand that the guest is there for any number of reasons, and you can read them, as well as the rest of the room, adjusting your approach, your tone, and your reactions accordingly. You know how to orchestrate that room so that everyone feels your presence; a presence that is already dialed into what they need from you. And you deliver, for them, for yourself, for your team, and for the company. You may not be a pro bartender yet, but these aspects of who you are will be the foundation. If you know how to bartend and do it well, all the better. If you don't, we can and will teach you, but if hospitality is not a part of who you are and how you want to grow, please move on to the next job opportunity. This is a part-time Bartender role. The Bartender will prepare and serve cocktails, whiskey pours, beer, and other beverages according to ELIXIR’s standards and recipes. Day-to-day responsibilities include engaging guests with friendly and informed service, taking and fulfilling orders, managing cash and electronic payments, and maintaining a clean, organized bar setup. The Bartender will also support inventory control, restocking, and adherence to responsible alcohol service and safety guidelines. Collaboration with the broader team to uphold ELIXIR’s reputation for craft cocktails, sustainability, and a welcoming environment is essential.
Qualifications:
Ability to listen, process, and respond properly.
Maturity and respect for yourself and others, personally and professionally. Come to the table ready.
Strong Customer Service skills with a focus on creating a welcoming, inclusive guest experience.
Clear and professional Communication skills for interacting with guests, teammates, and management.
Knowledge of Food & Beverage service, including cocktail preparation, whiskey service, and bar hygiene.
Reliable cash-handling skills, including accurate payment processing and basic cash reconciliation.
Hands-on Bartending experience, preferably in high-volume or craft cocktail environments.
Strong spirits knowledge a plus. A sincere interest in learning required.
Understanding of responsible alcohol service and applicable local regulations. All required CA and SF certifications are either complete or will be renewed.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed, on a set schedule, with the ability to back up your team with shift coverage when necessary.
Strong attention to detail, time management, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
Ability to do what is asked to the best of your ability, in the manner required.
Experience in sustainable or “green” hospitality operations is a plus.
Legal authorization to work and meet age requirements for alcohol service in the relevant jurisdiction.
